Pre & Post Tan Care Tips

A little ritual before and mindful care after — because your glow deserves to last.

Pre-Tan
01

Exfoliate

Use a gentle, oil-free scrub 24–48 hours before your session. Focus on knees, elbows, and ankles for the smoothest result.

02

Shave or Wax

Shave at least 24 hours before, or wax 48–72 hours prior. Fresh open pores cause the solution to absorb unevenly.

03

Skip the Moisturizer

Come in with clean, dry, product-free skin. Oils and moisturisers create a barrier that stops the solution absorbing evenly.

04

Wear Loose Clothing

Bring dark, loose clothes to wear after your session. Tight fabric rubs and streaks the bronzer before your first rinse.

05

Skip Deodorant & Perfume

Arrive product-free — deodorant, perfume, and makeup all create barriers that cause the solution to develop unevenly.

06

Protect Nails & Brows

Jasmine will apply barrier cream to nails, brows, and your hairline — but let her know if you have freshly dyed hair or lash extensions.

07

Stay Dry the Day Before

Avoid swimming, heavy workouts, or prolonged sweating the day before your appointment. Waterlogged skin absorbs solution poorly.

Post-Tan
01

Wait to Shower

Jasmine will advise your development window — typically 6–12 hours. The longer you wait, the deeper and richer your glow.

02

Moisturise Daily

Apply a tan-safe, oil-free moisturiser every day starting the morning after. Hydrated skin holds colour significantly longer.

03

Avoid Harsh Products

Skip retinols, AHAs, glycolic acid, and anything high in oil — these break down your tan much faster than normal wear.

04

Treat Your Skin Kindly

Pat dry, avoid tight waistbands, and skip pools and saunas for 48 hours. Your skin is glowing — give it the gentle care it deserves.

05

First Rinse Only

Your first shower should be a quick, lukewarm rinse — water only, no soap or body wash. This sets the base colour beautifully.

06

Skip the Gym

Avoid heavy sweating, hot yoga, or saunas for at least 24 hours post-tan. Sweat breaks down the DHA and causes patchiness.

07

Extend Your Glow

Use a gradual tan-enhancing lotion between appointments to keep colour topped up. Book your next session every 1–2 weeks for a lasting bronze.

Got Questions?

Everything you've been wondering about noud. spray tans, answered honestly.

01

How long will my tan last?

+
A noud. spray tan typically lasts 7–10 days with proper care. Daily moisturising, avoiding chlorine, and limiting long hot showers will help extend your colour. Areas of high friction like hands, knees, and elbows tend to fade first.
02

Will I look orange?

+
Never. Jasmine uses premium, cosmetic-grade solutions specifically formulated to develop into natural, warm, sun-kissed tones — not orange. The shade is customised to your skin tone so you always look like the best version of yourself.
03

Can I choose how dark my tan is?

+
Absolutely. During your consultation, Jasmine will discuss your desired depth of colour — from a light, barely-there glow to a deep, rich bronze. Solutions are customised to your skin tone and natural undertones for the most flattering result.
04

Does a spray tan protect me from UV damage?

+
No — a spray tan does not contain SPF and provides no protection against UV rays. Continue to apply sunscreen whenever you spend time outdoors. Think of your spray tan as colour, not sun protection.
05

How long does the appointment take?

+
The spray tan application itself takes approximately 10–15 minutes. However, please allow 30–45 minutes total for your full appointment including consultation, preparation, application, and drying time.
06

What should I wear to my appointment?

+
Wear whatever makes you comfortable during the application — most clients wear minimal clothing for the most seamless result. Afterward, bring loose, dark clothing that won't cling or rub. Avoid underwire bras and tight waistbands immediately after your session.
07

Can I get a spray tan if I'm pregnant?

+
Many clients do, however we always recommend consulting with your doctor first. As a precaution, we suggest avoiding spray tans during the first trimester. We're happy to discuss your situation and answer any specific questions during your consultation.
08

Do you offer mobile appointments?

+
Yes — Jasmine offers mobile spray tans throughout Toronto and surrounding areas. Whether you're getting ready at home before a special event or prefer the comfort of your own space, mobile appointments are available at a small travel surcharge.
09

How soon can I shower after my tan?

+
Development time depends on the solution used — Jasmine will tell you exactly at the end of your appointment. It typically ranges from 4–12 hours. If you're doing a quick rinse, 4–6 hours is usually the minimum. For the deepest, longest-lasting result, wait the full development time.
10

Why does the bronzer wash off but the tan stays?

+
The instant brown bronzer is a cosmetic guide colour that rinses off in your first shower — that's completely normal and expected. The real tan comes from DHA (dihydroxyacetone), a natural compound that reacts with the amino acids in your skin to produce a lasting golden colour over 8–24 hours.
11

What moisturiser should I use on my tan?

+
Use a lightweight, oil-free body moisturiser or a specifically formulated tan extender. Avoid anything with high oil content, retinol, AHAs, or glycolic acid, as these will break down your tan much faster. Jasmine can recommend her favourite products during your appointment.
12

How do I remove my tan evenly when it fades?

+
The best way to remove a fading tan is to soak in a warm bath for 10–15 minutes, then use a circular exfoliating mitt or sugar scrub. Focus on any patchy areas. Your skin will return to its natural tone within a few sessions. Come in for a fresh tan anytime you're ready!
